I’m super pleased with how this turned out and very easy to install. You will most likely need somebody else to hold one side while installing. The measurement was accurate, but we triple checked before ordering. I would recommend measuring at the top of the window and below because rarely are things square. The shade blacks out the room, is aesthetically pleasing and easy to use. We are very pleased.

I was very impressed with care to protect all edges and good quality of material, no plastic parts! Simple install, with 4 screws in each corner to build frame. Screen slides easily in side rails and I never had to adjust tension on strings.The 4 screws to mount inside window could be an inch longer as not all window boxes are framed equally. Sometimes drywall mud is different thicknesses. I did remove an 1/8 inch when measuring to order and glad I did. It gave room to adjust within the window box. Then to give clean edges and block light on frame edges, I caulked entire edge except the bottom in case condensation occurred. Really cleans it up and looks good!Highly recommend as they look amazing!!!

I ordered one it came in 2 boxes a week apart. I sort of assumed it would be preassembled. Not a big deal. Once assembled and installed it works and looks great.

Got these for 2 skylights that even with double tint was causing the room to heat up too much and I was tired of the ac running non stop. Once I entered the measurements the price did go up more than I expected but these have been worth every penny. They arrived ahead of time which was a bonus. Putting the 2 frames together was easy and took less than half an hour, and then another 10min to install without assistance. They look great and block out the light and heat. I opted for the 1/8 subtraction for wiggle room which was needed for the length, but left a small gap width wise(see Pic). I was aware that was a possible outcome and once I put a pice of weather strip there you'll never know. One of the best Amazon purchases I've made in a while.

I just finished installing 3 skylight covers. They were easy to assemble and easy to install. I did all the measurements in the exact place where I was going to place/mount the frames. I had them cut off the extra 1/8-inch just to be on the safe side. The fit perfectly. I did go around the edge where the game meets the drywall with a small bead of caulk to seal any light leaks. I did install them myself but I highly recommend having someone else help hold them in place. Mine started to slip and the frame started bending when I was installing. It is aluminum so it was easy to bend back but it could have been really bad had I not caught it. As for the shade, it does pull firm but it does open and close in any position. I assume that as the strings stretch over time, I may have to retention them. The weakest part is the pole to open and close them. They are very thin aluminum and with the tension on them I had to reach high onto the pole to not bend it. If I were going to order this again I’d look at some other pole like a painters pole from Home Depot or something. I’m certain the pole is going to be the first thing to break.
